Royal Bank of Canada

The Royal Bank of Canada opened its firs office in San Juan in 1907.  In 1921 Antonin Nechodoma was commissioned to design a new branch office at Mendez Vigo & Dr. Basora streets in Mayagüez.  The Mayagüez Branch was opened until 1993 when the Royal Bank of Canada closed its operations on the island and sold all its branches to Spain's Banco Bilbao Vizcaya or BBVA.

In the 1970's the structured still looked true to its original design.  Today, the building is considerably altered from the way it looked in the 70's and is used as a dentist's office.
