Seoane Building

Not much information is available regarding this building except that it was a 1920 Nechodoma design. The balcony overhangs and column details are typical Nechodoma.

No information is available regarding the original ownership of this building or who commissioned its design to Nechodoma.  Supposedly the building is named after Manuel Seoane, Caguas Mayor from 1941 to 1948.  It is unknown if Seoane ever owned the building.  There are two Manuel Seoane; Manuel Seoane San Martin (1869- ) born in Galicia, Spain who in 1910 lived in Gurabo and was in the agricultural business and his son Manuel Seoane Gonzalez (1896-1983) born in Gurabo who in 1940 was an electrical products agent.  Based on the above dates, it is reasonable to believe the original owner was Manuel Seoane San Martin.

The building is located on the corner of Muñoz Rivera Strreet (PR-1) and Betances Street facing the city's Santiago R. Palmer Plaza.
